an empty spoon

Hi Friends.    It's been so long since I've blogged that I almost forgot how to do it.
I've been wanting to get back into the swing of things but there were always so many obstacles in my way.

#1. crappy laptop.      ~  solved problem by steeling the husbands better version of a crappy laptop.
#2. No memory card drive in crappy laptop.  ( how the heck does that happen)
#3.  No camera.  I gave both of my canon rebels to my daughters who were both in photography classes in school. ~ I've been using my phone camera for the past year or so.
#4.  My spoon ran empty.  ~  Is it possible to run out of things to blog about?
#5.  Too many blog sell outs.    Seemed like many of my long time favorite blogs were selling out to advertising and I was reading more commercial like blogs then the family and home oriented blogs that I used to love.
So..  What was the point of even trying to blog on the crappy computer, with no disk drive and no awesome camera to take those amazing magazine quality photos that I was seeing in other blogs?

However, I was missing out.
I missed the inspiration that the real bloggers gave me.
I missed the friends that I had made..   and often found myself wondering how they were doing.   It's funny how connected you become to people that you have not and probably never will meet in person.
I missed being able to print out my blog last year..  because I basically had nothing to print.

After 12 years of blogging...  I can't just give it up.   I love documenting our life.
But, I decided a while ago, that if I were going to continue keeping a blog,  that I would have to start fresh.   I needed a clean pallet.

Now, with all of the changes that are happening in our lives,  this is the perfect time to launch a new blog.   Please follow me over to my new home.   Dandelion Sprinkles .  I'm so excited and ready to start this new blog journey.   It has a cutesy name,  its clean,  the walls have been freshly painted and I'm ready to go.

I hope to see you all there.   Thank you for always sticking by me.

xo

#5 Yes, yes, yes! I have been having struggles with blogging also. When I look back over old post I know I need to keep going. Having a scrapbook, of sorts, of life is a good thing. I'll jump over and check out the new space!

I'm having much of the same!
Been thinking of starting a new blog too... but don't quite have the guts to let go. ( I have a problem letting go...)
Then yet, I still abandon my own blog at times.
I've seen many bloggers just drop out, sell out (as you say) and it appears sadly, some have not dropped out... but literally appear to have died off?
Anyway... I'm making a note of your new blog.
and heading there now to check it out!

I totally know what you mean. Ive been blogging here since 2006 I think and on live journal 2 years prior to that. And over the last few months I have slowed down. Ive noticed that many of the "old' bloggers have quit disappeared.. or maybe Ive lost track of them. not sure which. I think facebook and instagram became an easier way to post pictures and thoughts. but there is nothing like visiting blogs. Ive always felt like I was visiting neighbors when I blog hop. sort of like stopping in for a cup of tea! lol! anyways, as a result of not posting so much, Im not getting nearly as many comments as I used to get and then I think.. why am I doing this? Then I realized that its more for me. Sort of like a diary! And so, I will blog when I can and about whatever I like... even if it seems to be the same stuff over and over.. the beach.. my grand kids... bla bla bla! lol!
Geesh.. I didnt know I was going to write a book here, just wanted to say I know what youre talking about ! lol!
happy day and happy 4th of july!
xoxo

Funny that everyone is sharing the same opinion on the blogging subject. I do daily journaling on prosebox. But its more personal then blogland. Plus just hard to find the time with a 3 year old grandson around most days!
Excited to read your new blog! I have always enjoyed A Spoonful of Everything!
