Ok... so I messed up.
Now we are on post #499, and I did promise a little give away on the 500th post.
I will tell you all about the give away tomorrow. : )
I think it has to do with this long winter.
I thrive on color, sunshine and of course... polka dots.
The dining room has been bothering me the most.
I tried to mix things up a bit and get it ready for Easter.
I made the table smaller, added the lace table cloth, spring bunny plates and a huge ugly bouquet of flowers.
Ewww Ewwww Ewwww.
I swear, I think I've lost my mojo.
After staring into the dining room all night last night
I had a idea and I knew exactly what I needed to do.
I decided that I was going to strip the room bare and start from scratch.
~ which is what i did this morning.
I was going to rearrange some furniture and do some touch up painting on the walls
.... and I was going to paint the dining room chairs red to match the (already red) chandy.
I was at the Home Depot picking out red paint before the sun came up.
It took me about an hour to paint the chairs..
and while they were outside drying I moved and painted the inside of the little china cabinet.
I was very excited and a little bit scared to put the chairs around the table.
I also stole the "neighborhood" picture and white cabinet from the living room
( which is the next room to get spruced up) and I love them so much better against this wall.
Pearl's giant bird condominium is tucked in the corner where he can see everything.
I love the red!!
What do you think?

I LOVE the red chairs, Leslie! You got the color you wanted in your home! You are amazing when you set your mind to something...it would have taken me days just to paint the chairs! I really do love it all and now you have a sure fire way to get out of a winter funk! :)
XO,
Jane
Love them Leslie! What a gorgeous pop of color. I love your green bunny plates too! Where did you find those? I need some! LOL
I think it looks amazing!
The red chairs are so great and now it looks wonderful. I love the little
china cabinet and would like to see more of it. Deb
I need some of your energy! The red chairs look great! I am heading to Michaels tomorrow, I'm in the mood for some craft time!
I REALLY love the red chairs. Great decorating sense! Makes me want to paint my chairs.
I know what you're feeling, too. I feel dull and "what's the use" kind of feeling. That has not been me all winter long. Now that Spring is here and daylight is longer (Connecticut has daylight savings time now) I should be really springy... Thanks for sharing. There is a sweet little hummingbird tending her two little baby birds on the hummingbird cam - you can get the link on my blog. Take care of yourself. Linda

Love the chairs! I'm on a mission to replace our kitchen chairs. Looking for different styles at thrift shops and garage sales, and then I'll paint them all the same color. Red or blue, I'm not sure. Love the way yours look!
Beautifullll!!!!! Red is the color. It gives life and happiness to the dining room. I would like to be as determined and quick as you.
Love from Spain
Leslie, this turned out so well. The red just makes everything pop and it truly looks like a different space.
Off topic: how in the world did you meet Tamra (on your left side of blog)? LOL

Very nice! Great pop of color to add a little sumthin-sumthin to the room.
I think it's a tough time of the year all around, for those of use who live in the colder climates. It's sunnier out but still cold and everything feels...........tired. COME ON SPRING!!
