New friends, pretties, a question and a Give away winner

Hi everyone!
I hope that you have are having a fantastic weekend.

It is gorgeous here today.
I spent the morning on the deck
sipping coffee and enjoy good conversations with Grandma Spoonful.
~A nice start to a beautiful day.

I can't wait to show you all what I found at Marshall's.
$6.00 bought this awesome Coca Cola pail.
I wasn't really sure what I was going to use it for..
but I think that it makes a beautiful kitchen table centerpiece.

Even better enjoyed with a bottle of my favorite Cupcake Riesling.

I went Marshall's in search of some pretty polka dotted dishes..
I found a set of cute orange dessert plates.

The green plates and place mates came from the Dollar Tree.
I think that the combination of colors are going to look great together
... especially in the fall.

I want you to meet some of my new friends.
I've been cat sitting  for friends who were enjoying a gorgeous week at Nags Head, NC.

Miss Pickles who spends most of her days lounging on a Southern rebel flag blanket.

Sweet little George who is like 100 years old and has to take medicine twice a day

Handsome Henry ( my favorite) who has a neurological problem and never leaves the upstairs.

And the rotten, but very funny Fuzzy
whom I have renamed Fuzzilicious

I am going to miss these cuties now that my week of Kitty duty is over.

Speaking of Friends..
I have a question for you fellow bloggers.

I follow a mess of blogs and love reading them all..
but sometimes when I fall behind I get overwhelmed.

What I want to know is what method do you all do to keep up with everyone??
I only go by mostly by my sidebar .. but I don't have every blog listed up there.

I want to make it easier and a much smoother process.

Tips, hints and advice.. greatly appreciated.

How pitiful is sweet Stymie!

Don't worry..

He's happy now that he got his morning swim.

It's giveaway day!!!

And the big winner is....
Drum roll please..

(I can't figure to how post that stupid number generator!!)

Hi Leslie, I just typed out a long comment to you but it disappeared! Am trying to post differently here...
Re blogs, I keep my faves and my closest bloggy friends on my sidebar so I make sure I don't miss out but I just don't have time for all the blogs I follow. It's not easy.
Those puss cats are a funny lot of characters. I bet they were a little spoilt like your pooches are :)

Lovin' your new polka dot plates! The cats are great, Miss Pickles is such a fun name. The pup looks like he's living large in that water, as I would be right now! I just take a pic of my computer screen-showing to show winners (congrats to Bee!). As for keeping up... it just takes lots of time:@)

I can't beieve I WON something!! Thank you thank you. I'll email you. I love the orange plates. I adore the animals. We had a cat for 17 years. We had to put her to sleep 2 years ago and it nearly killed me. Now I just have one grand-dog, Spike. As far as keeping up with my blog reading, I have as my home page and use their reader as an app on my home page. I sign up to receive my blogs that way. Each time I go on line any new posts or comments show up in reader and I can click on and read the story and see pictures. If I need to comment, I can click to go to the original post. After I read them, I refresh the screen and it deletes what I read and if I dont' get them all done, they are still there when I go back online. It really works well.

Oh, can you please give grandma spoonful a hug from us? We hope to see her next month when we visit. I am often overwhelmed trying to keep up with blog reading! If I spent as much time as I should reading...I'd have nothing to blog about! I use the reading list section on my dashboard. As soon as there is a new post on one of the blogs I follow, it comes up there, and I can click on it to go to the blog and read the whole thing. Not perfect but it helps.

Very cute plates. I really like the orange and green together.

When you get the whole commenting/blog following thing figured out let me know! I can't find a great way to do it either ;)

Hey, You are such a cleaver shopper!! Really love the Coca Cola bucket for your flowers. AND wouldn't it be just so neat to have real Cokes in it all iced up!!

The cupcake Riesling is new to me...we will have to try that.

Hope your friend has a great time down here in NC....

I love all your sweet finds..especially the CC bucket! Love all the sweet animals too. As for commenting, I'll publish my post and as the comments come into me, I answer them right back. Then I go over my blog list to see if I missed any one. I always comment back when someone is kind enough to come comment to me. If I comment to someone several times in a row and they never comment back, I take them off my blog list. :D

Morning coffee on the deck sounds wonderful. I love the polka dot plates. . . so cute!

I use Google Reader to keep up with other people's blogs. It's always worked well for me.

Those cats are adorable!
For the blog reading I use my Blogger dashboard, where every time someone I follow write a new post it pops up there.

Hi, Leslie! Cute plates, and I am a huge Diet Coke fan, so of course, I love your bucket! It really makes for an adorable flower arrangement!

I want a cat so badly. However, both my daughters are allergic, and I don't think the dogs would be happy either, so I'll just wait! I'll be the old cat lady of the neighborhood!

Usually everyday, I go to my Reading List and see who's posted. I always comment on bloggers that comment on my blog. Not sure if this helps!

Congratulations to the lucky winner! :o)
You lucky girl you!!
As for the reading and keeping up with blogs ... there are a few that I read on a regular basis, we have formed friendships through blogging and I really want to keep up and see what is going on in their lives. The blogs that give me motivation and are inspirational, I try to prioritize and go from there. :o) I hope that helps. :o)
I hope you have had a real nice weekend.
Sincerely, Trish

Hi Leslie! I love your new centerpiece...the contrast of the red and yellow is lovely! I adore your new dishes! Perfect for anytime really! I don't have a system for blog reading either...I just know that when I visit someone I try to read back to all of the posts where I last left off! I tend to leave more comments for my smaller blogger friends. The big blogs that have thousands of followers and tons of comments already...I don't comment as often. Have a wonderful week! Angie xo

I love those colors together! And polka dots on yellow are just always fab.

I get behind too but I do have a bit of a system. People who I really like to keep in touch with (like you :)) I add their blog to my Google Reader. I go through those pretty much every day (or at least every other day) unless I'm SUPER busy. When I have more time - which is sometimes once a week, sometimes only once a month - I go through the blog updates on my Blogger Dashboard. I hate to put people into 'groups' like that but I just can not keep up with everyone. It would be a full time job in and of itself. You have favorites that you want to hear from all the time and then people like long-lost relatives that you catch up with when you can. :)

I would be lost without my Google Reader ;o)
