holy cow ~ I forgot to show you the REAL tree

The living room tree is always the REAL tree.
The tree that Santa leaves all of the goodies!!!

The tree that is graced with special mementos from our lives.

This year we mixed both large and small colored lights
The effect is amazing!!

Remember those "fall" themed pillows..
I painted the winter months on the back so that I can keep using them.

The red, white and black plaid pillows I purchased at Target last week.
... and I LOVE them.

and  HOLY COW yes...
that is a cow that you see on top of the tree.

This is her 21st year on the top of our tree.

For those of you who don't know the history of the cow..

21yrs ago, when Papa Spoonful and I were just dating
We cut down and put up our first Christmas tree and we didn't have a tree topper that we liked.
as a joke Papa spoonful place this stuffed cow on top.
She's been there ever since.
Through the years she has gained some well deserved wings and a halo.

The kids sometimes ask for something normal..
I can't imagine a Christmas without this cow topping the tree.

Have a happy week everyone.

Your tree looks fantastic - I love all of those coloured lights! We were laughing the other day when putting up the tree as we have 400 lights on it. Oh well, it looks good.
Great story about the Holy Cow. I'm glad to see she has wings and a halo :)
